We are once again participating in a blog hop and this time our topic is: Alpha Heroes! Jane Charles says, "The heroes I write tend to be a combination of the Beta and the Alpha, or in other words, the Gamma, who possesses the best of both. All of my heroes have some Alpha characteristics but there are two that seem to be tied, in my mind, for my favorite Alpha. The first would be Vincent Latimer, Viscount Atwood, from To Walk in the Sun. He is brooding and just wants to be left alone while he plans revenge and lives with the guilt of his wife’s death. He is forced to reenter society and the world when Tess Crawford stumbles into his path and ultimately overruns his life and household. "The second would be Clayton Trent, Earl of Bentley, from A Misguided Lord. Actually, the title of the book says it all. He was cold, deliberate, decisive and confident until one slip of a woman, Eleanor Westin, made him question everything he had believed until meeting her." Amazon Rose Gordon says, "I don't usually write Alpha Heroes, so when I do, I usually have to give them a heroine who can stand up to them and keep them in their place! An example of this is a certain viscount I have named Patrick Ramsey, Lord Drakely. See Patrick (or Drake as his intimates call him) was the widower father of three growing girls and thought he had the perfect solution to the problem of giving his daughters both a new mother and a governess: he'd marry a local village girl who could suit the role for both and call her the motherness! What Patrick didn't realize was one Miss Juliet Hughes was not some docile creature to be trampled and ignored. She had bite and spirit, and though they might have been born worlds apart in social circles, they are quite evenly matched in the one area that counts: the heart. Amazon Jerrica Knight-Catania says, "Because I love a good beta hero, I don't have a ton of alpha heroes in my backlog. Not that my heroes aren't strong, take-charge guys when they have to be, but I think of an alpha as having a little more surliness. And I do have one hero who definitely wins title of Most Surly. "Stephen Hastings, Viscount Hastings, from More than a Governess (Wetherby Brides, book 2) has had a rough couple of years, and he doesn't hesitate to take it out on anybody and everybody that gets in his way. Combine that with a very head-strong heroine who doesn't hesitate to put him in his place, and you have one tumultuous love story!" Amazon Ava Stone Says: "Major Philip Moore holds a special place in my heart. He's my honorable, not-quite-surly alpha hero. Philip has always known exactly what he wanted in life, but when his childhood sweetheart married another while he was away at war, he returned to home with a wounded leg and a broken heart. No matter what injustices Philip has faced, his moral compass has always been firmly in place. He is noble, honest, and quite stubborn at times. Without a doubt, however, he'll always be MY FAVORITE MAJOR."
