Tell us about your book(s)!
Beginning with the Wedded Women Quartet and ending with my latest release, a holiday novella about an embittered soldier who lost his arm in battle and the beautiful, fiesty heroine who attempts to woo him for reasons she is hesitant to reveal, I've always tried to write historical romance that is a bit out of the box. We've all read the stories where the gorgeous virgin falls in love with the handsome, angsty hero and they both live happily-ever-after. But what in the heroine isn't so perfect? What if the hero isn't so handsome? What happens after they get married? These are the types of themes I love to explore in my novels (and novellas).
Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
Ryan Gosling. The answer is always Ryan Gosling.
Any tips on how to get through the dreaded writer’s block?
I get writer's block ALL THE TIME. The way I get through it is to write little and often. I've never had the attention span to sit and write for more than an hour, so I write when the ideas come to me: a page or two in the morning, a paragraph in the afternoon, a sentence at night. It's not terribly efficient, but it works. The biggest thing I've learned is that you can't force it. If something isn't working, either move to another part in the story or start writing something else entirely.
What are your thoughts on good/bad reviews?
If anyone takes the time out of their busy lives to write about one of my books, whether it's positive or negative, I'm grateful.

It probably sounds silly, but if I'm ever feeling incredibly stressed out I go see a movie. Just me, myself, and a big tub of popcorn with extra butter.

Kate Middleton, only because I have this weird obsession fascination with the royal family.
What is the most interesting trip you have ever taken?
I was lucky enough to travel to Europe with my foreign language club in high school. We went to London, Paris, and Rome -- it was incredible. I can't wait for the chance to go back.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
I was walking down the street once and saw a cute guy out of the corner of my eye. He was in a truck stopped at a red light. I was about to cross the street. He waved. I forgot to look where I was going and I didn't just trip, I face planted on the curb. Purse went flying, one shoe popped off, and I ripped a big hole in my brand new jeans. Surprisingly enough, I didn't get his number.

Cook dinner or order take-out/delivery? Well, I don't cook so... delivery.
Vanilla or chocolate ice-cream? Vanilla
Pancakes or eggs? Eggs. Which, come to think of it, I actually can cook. Sort of.
Sleep in or get up early? Getting up early. Unfortunately.
