What's NOT to love about autumn...

After a very hot summer, autumn is finally here! And like many of you, we love autumn, too. 

Ava Stone says, "Autumn is my favorite time of year! Warm apple cider and pumpkin spice in the air. The colorful changing of the leaves, but most especially – long nights spent beside the warm, crackling fire in my den. 

I love to relax by the fireplace with the soft glow of my laptop as I type away on my current book. Or if I’m being particularly decadent, I might get the time to actually read someone else’s book. And that is what I’m looking forward to this weekend. It’s been forever since I’ve had the time to read a book that wasn’t research related, but Sabrina Jeffries’ latest release ‘Twas the Night After Christmas has been calling to me. (I mean, there's even a fireplace on the cover!) So I am going to treat myself to Jeffries’ genius, a mug of apple cider and a warm fire. I can’t wait!"

Jane Charles said, "There are so many things to love about Autumn: the crisp chill in the air, apple cider, candy apples, colorful leaves, the vibrant blue sky and the first fire in the fireplace. Or, if I am outside, I love to  bundle up in a sweatshirt, sit by the firepit , drink hot cider and read  one of the many books I have loaded onto my Kindle. If it gets too chilly, I stay inside, settle back in the recliner and write. There is something about a quiet house, candles with spicy scents filling the air and the crackle of the fireplace to enhance the mood for writing a historical romance."

Jerrica Knight-Catania says, "Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. Crisp, cool weather that invites cozy sweaters and romantic evenings curled up by the fire. Pumpkins everywhere and pumpkin flavored treats, hayrides and trick-or-treating -- what's not to love? I worried that moving to south Florida would put a damper on my fall -- how can you have fall without cool weather, after all? -- but to the contrary, I'm loving it! We've had cooler temps, but it's never too cold. And unlike Halloween in the Northeast, we can actually trick-or-treat with just our costumes on, instead of our costumes and 3 layers of outerwear. But my most favorite thing about fall are the amazing scents of pumpkins and spices and apples! Mmmm! No wonder I always gain 10lbs every autumn!"  

Rose Gordon says, "Hayrides and hot chocolate words I considered to be synonymous with autumn while growing up--and as they say, "Some things never change". As an adult, I still go on hayrides. Except now, it's not for the enjoyment of bouncing around on the hay-filled trailer or hearing some made-up story, but seeing my young boys grin like jackals doing the exact same activity! Likewise, a treat of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream never fails to warm a body...and a heart.
